If you have Tivo desktop, that's great. But now I have to remember how I did it.
1) Dig around in 'Pick Recordings to Transfer'.
2) Find what you want, 'Start Transfer' then go make a sandwich. The recording is then magically sent to your computer while you eat!
3) Take your .TIVO file and open it in Windows Movie Maker. You can cut out credits/commercials and whatever if you have the time. Then 'Publish to Computer' so it will be saved as a .WMV file.
4) Take your new .WMV and and load it into Videora iPod Converter. You should see a heavenly beam of light fall upon your computer.
Then just sync it to the iPod and enjoy. What? Yes, I do own that Harry Potter video! Why did I Tivo the movie if I already own it? I don't have Playguard!
OK.. We have The Gimp, Paintdotnet, and Picasa. And Photoshop CS3 but that's a different story. I decided to do basically the same thing in each editor to the same picture to see the final results. Mostly sharpen, screen, blur, multiply and then some minor opacity adjustments.
Paintdotnet was about 6 minutes. Two of those minutes were spent waiting for the unfocus to render. Used 4 layers to sharpen, screen, unfocus and multiply.
Picasa was maybe 3 minutes. Fill-light, sharpen then export. Undo. Shadows up, soft focus then export. Collage with Multi-exposure the new exports. Contrast..Didn't like the results at all and the exporting/undoing/changing made it a slight headache. Someone had made a tutorial about Picasa and Orton effects. I can't remember all they did so I just had to try what I could remember.
TheGimp... Using a script someone wrote, it took about 30 seconds and that includes saving the file after it was done. That's all I got to say about that.
Then I stuck all 3 edits and the original into Picasa collage thingy and did the multi-exposure output and I like that one best.
The time it took me to write this post? About an 1.5 hours.
I had 50 (fifty) Dell dollars to spend from a gift card type thing that I got when I extended my warranty. Those dollars, and a few extra, were spent today! I got:
Saitek Eclipse USB Keyboard
1 GB CompactFlash Memory Card
PowerBlock AC Charger for iPod
I finally did it! I let someone else cut my hair. It was too thick and yucky for me to be happy with any longer. I think the only solution I had was to have it all cut off. It's soooo much lighter.
I better publish this before the rain comes again and makes my satellite shit itself.
Yes, my nose is indeed crooked. and yes, that is a pimple on my nose.
Well, in the past few days, all the things I ordered with my Dell Dollar$ has come in. The thing I like most is the wall charger for the iPod. It's really nice! I haven't even opened my memory card yet but I'm sure it's nice too. The keyboard I got is HUGE. Each key on here is about the size of a brick. Ok maybe not that big but still pretty close. It's pretty with the red back light on it. I'm sure the blue lighted one would have been prettier but who wants to pay an extra 10 bucks for a blue bulb? Also, Casey's Tomtom came in. It's nice. (And by the way, they're on sale this week if yer looking to get a Tomtom One.)I think it's just another way for the government to keep tabs on you though. He thought we needed one for all the traveling we do. We navigated ourselves all the way to Walmart and didn't get lost not once! Can you believe that? I mean, Walmart's about as far as we go anyway but shit... Do we really need to use a freakin' gps to get there? Men and their gadgets. I swear.
Kara's old enough now to know that the Teletubbies, Elmo, Spongebob, Harry Potter and the rest of her friends all live here on the internet. Sometimes we'll sit here and google images of those friends and also look at cats, dogs and whatever else she asks for. A few days ago, she wanted to look at Barbie pictures on the 'puter. Well, it was horrible and Safe Search is now ON. What was even worse was when we were looking at pictures of cats and what popped up right there in front of us was terrible. Somehow we ended up on an exploited animal page and well, the images weren't pretty. Then i finally found a cute Black Sheep video. I'm putting it here so I won't have to search through mind scarring things to find it again. Maybe bangedup.com isn't the place to look for cute kid videos. Noooo I really don't go looking for videos there! I just saw their logo on several videos that popped up.
She's also addicted to this: http://www.rathergood.com/laibach/
But I'll be out of town until Monday.
