I don't even know where to start. It's been so long. So I'll start off when I was sick. Yeah, I was sick a couple of weeks ago. Sore throat, cough, fever, etc. It was horrible. I'm still getting over it. I was sick the entire time Casey was on vacation. When I wasn't feeling too ill, I went fishing a couple of times but I mostly laid around the house and napped. I finally went to the professionals for some medication. This may surprise you, but it's helped a lot.
I finally came to terms with reality and decided to find Molly a new home. She was a great dog. Lovable, active, house trained and great with kids. But that was as far as we could take it. We could only bring her outside on a leash or have to leave her on a run or in a pen because of her bad habit of running away. The last time she ran off, she nearly got hit by cars. Yes, more than one. I thought it would be better for her to have a home with a fenced yard and not just a pen. Her new owner loves her and even shares her bed with her. I do feel like I've made the right decision now.
On Saturday, April 4th, we got a new puppy that we could start out with fresh training. I think if we had gotten Molly when she was younger she would not have been so adventurous in her trips to the highway. Anyway. We got a miniature Dachshund. Her name is Daisy and she is now 9 weeks old. She's a cute little thing but has so far been a handful of worry. I took her to the vet on the Monday after we got her for a good check-up. Everything was great with her. And the next day she started pooping blood. There was another vet trip on Wednesday to get all that checked out. Negative for parvo. Negative for parasites. Negative for worms. Now, several days later she's a lot better. I don't think it had anything to do with the shot the Dr. gave her. She was still pooping blood on Friday so I went to town to buy her new food. It was worth a shot, right? I ended up switching her from Purina Puppy Chow to Iiam's Puppy Something. Today she is sooooo much better. No blood at all that I've seen. Hopefully this will be the last time I have to worry about something like this.
Well. It's late. Nitey nite. At this late hour, typos, run-on sentences and general mistakes were intentions.
