Anyone who knows me knows I love games. I've been playing video games for damn near 20 years! 20 years! Surely there's some help for me out there. For Christmas, my husband (who hates games) got me a GBA and Final Fantasy V Advance. I finally finished FFV after slowly playing it for a month or 2. Spent most of my time leveling characters. A few days ago I got a new game. It was cheap and on sale. Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban. After about 4 hours of leisure play, I finished it. I was so disappointed. Either I'm damn good or it was damn easy.

Oh what a wonderfully naughty day Friday was! It was 2:30pm..Kara was taking an early nap, Casey was still at work and all was quiet on the home front. I felt like doing something dirty. So I sneaked my way back here to the computer and thought about it. I got back up and checked if it was still clear out the window and locked the door. And then I did it! I played WoW for 20 minutes on MHGL's account! It was so devilishly delightful! And then it happened.. I heard Casey driving up to the house early. Oh shit! Alt+F4! Alt+F4! Dammit!!!! ALT+F4!!! I didn't get caught but he did come in and ask me why I had a shit eating grin on my face... W00t!

It's Now Official
I have absolutely no life. I heard a couple times before that getting from 69-70 takes the longest and it's true!! It took me two days! Every 5 minutes the satellite would go out. It's been raining for days here.
Now what? Make a new guy? Wait for the next expansion? Get a job? Sleep finally? or now that I made it to 70, I can enjoy the game?

Ok.. Some people can't read good but want to do other things good too. Some people want to print good things but Vista doesn't want to let them. I want to read and print pages good too! so I did..
Here's the short of it:
I wanted to enroll in online banking so I could watch the money leave my bank account in real-time. What could be more fun than that? Until you get to the last page of enrollment and it says "Print, sign, date and return". By US Postal mail! or Fax. Alrighty. No printer = no printing. No printing = no signing. No signing = No returning. What's a fool to do?! So I printed it! and when I got to the last sentence I finally saw the contact number and email of where to reach these people.. I guess I don't read no good either.
If I could read good and RTF form, I would have noticed that it said "return the portion above" which was only 3 blank lines.. Print your name, sign your name, date.

Thursday I ordered:
ATI Radeon™ HD 2600XT and 2 GB (2 x 1 GB) Memory Module Kit for XPS 400.
My current cards is a GeForce 7300 LE. And I have 2g memory installed.
Now let me try to make a table for my own amusement.

Damn Computer Shit .. again
So things didn't work out so well with the Radeon. Every 5 minutes (usually less) the screen would go black and I'd see "display driver atikmdag stopped responding and has successfully recovered". I spent hours updating to the latest catalyst drivers then I spent hours downgrading to older drivers. SO. After careful consideration and hours of reading forums, I chose the eVGA e-GeForce 9600 GT SUPERCLOCKED 512MB DDR3 PCI-E 2.0.
I think this is the card that Rodney has and he says it's pretty good. It may not be the same card, but it's the one I ordered. The only thing I was worried about was my stock 375watt PSU. After reading the Dell forums until my eyes bled, I found that several people can run this card and higher cards by using the stock PSU. Apparently the 375watt can handle it because it pulls more from the wall and has one of those little thingies you can connect to your card directly to your power supply. A P-4 cable (6-pin connector). I also looked at the 8800GT and the.. well I looked at just about all of them. I wanted to keep my price UNDER 200 and I did. My next dealie to buy for my 'upgrading' will (maybe) be a X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional. I may decide to upgrade my something else instead.
I need a f00kin job so I can pay for this shit now. I feel like a bad person making my husband unknowingly buy me things while he is hard at work.

In Shatt I was getting around 60-70fps with just a few things turned down.
I am still occasionally that sound stutter/snap/crackle/pop but I noticed the 2 times I had that problem I had paint.net running at the same time as w0w. Maybe that's the problem? Another thing is an occasional freeze after installing the ram yesterday. It's froze up both with and without a new card installed. I checked and changed a few things in BIOS so maybe that will cure it.

I get between 70-150 FPS depending on where I'm at. In Scarlet Armory I get 145. Yes, I'm in SA. Giggle if you want..
