We went back out to Danville today. We found a few more plows and several pieces of things that we weren't sure about.

We even dug up a frog! We covered him back up and left what ever treasure he was guarding there.

Some old shears we found on Sunday.

My poison ivy is a lot worse today and Kara has it all under her arms from when I was picking her up before I knew I had it.

*insert screaming sound here*

Another thing that comes along with all of this outdoorsy shit is poison ivy. I have it to the Nth degree on my right hand and arm. Oh God please make it go away!!

Today was better than yesterday.

Kara and I decided to go on a treasure hunting picnic today. It was cool and breezy. A very nice day for a picnic. We dug a few holes then stopped to eat our soggy bologna sammaches with cheetos smashed on them. Mom came along with us so I had someone to tote the shovel. Kara's hands were full with her worm bucket. We went in the woods behind our house and then to the yard of the house I lived in when I was a kid. Didn't find much in the woods. Mostly pieces of fence and nails. In the old house yard, I found a penny, pair of pliers, more nails, some weird things, a handle to a toy gun and on olf Hot Wheels car. On the bottom if the car it say "Steam Roller 1973". Since that was before my time, I'm thinking it belonged to my brother or cousin.

Dirt Digging

I thought maybe I'd try out a new hobby. Metal detecting! For Christmas,I got Casey a metal detector. He's not always here to use it so I thought I'd try it out. It was fun! I've dug up nails, pennies, cans.. all kinds of junk. I always thought it was neat to find something lost in the dirt and not know how or when it got there.

On Sunday, we went out to George's house to dig around the woods near his house. We found some cool things out there. A couple of old axe heads, part of a horse bit, a few triangle looking things and an old chain. It was kinda creepy when we dug up the chain. It had an old hook on the end of it and I made the comment about being glad there wasn't a dog collar on there too. After George pulled the rest of the chain up, there was an old leather dog collar on it. All I could think was OMG I hope that dog pulled the collar over his head and didn't die and rot out of it. I wish I had thought to bring my camera with me.. Well, I did bring it but I left it in the car. Next time I go out there, I'll take pictures of all the stuff we found out there that day.

Kara and I went out today to the creek behind the house. We found a penny, several pieces of wire and a few of those old pull tabs that used to be on beer. We planted a googly-eyed potato in every hole we dug. Our way of 'giving something back' I guess. I tried to upload a few pictures of the pennies to Flickr but it's totally fuk'd. I tried every upload option they had but everything failed. They better get their shit straight soon.. My Flickr Pro account expires this month and I won't renew it if I can't upload anything. I'll have to use something like webshotz or picasa if it doesn't start working.
